In this section you will find answers to many of the frequently asked questions (FAQs) you may have about opening an account online with The Adirondack Trust Company.  These FAQ's are for deposit accounts.  Listed below are the following sections:

General Questions

Q.     Who is The Adirondack Trust Company?
A. The Adirondack Trust Company is a locally owned and operated bank in Saratoga Springs, NY.  Since 1902 we have been serving the banking needs of our communities.  We have nine branches in Saratoga County, NY and two branches in Warren County. Q.     What type of personal accounts can be opened online?
A. At this time you can open:

  • Regular and Interest Checking
  • Online Statement Savings
  • Health Savings Account
  • Regular Money Market, High Peaks Money Market and High Yield Money Market
  • 6 month Online CD (certificate of deposit)
  • 1 year Online CD (certificate of deposit)


Q.     Can I open a business account?
A. No, at this time only personal accounts can be opened online.  If you would like to open a business account please call us at 518-584-5844 or 1-800-485-7899 or visit any one of our branches.


Q.     How do I make withdrawls and deposits?
A. You can transfer funds between linked Adirondack Trust accounts using our online banking service, WebWise®.  Or you can write a check (if a checking account) to access your funds or visit any one of our branches to make a withdrawal.  Deposits can be made at any Adirondack Trust branch or any one of our branches with an ATM.  If your account has an ATC ATM or Visa Debit Card you can also use that to make withdrawls.

Q.     How do I fund my new account?
A.     You can fund your new account using the following options:

  • Transfer from your existing Adirondack Trust account
  • Transfer from your account at the other financial institution to Adirondack Trust
  • Use your credit card or debit card
  • Bring a check or cash to any one of our branches
  • Send a check by mail

 

Q.    What information do I need to open a joint account?
A. WebWise® Online Banking ID and password (if you are an existing customer)

Q.     What is the minimum opening deposit for the various online accounts?
A.

  • Regular Checking -  $1.00
  • Interest Checking -  $500.00
  • Online Statement Savings - $100.00
  • Money Market & High Yield Money Market - $500.00
  • High Peaks Money Market - $15,000.00
  • Health Savings - $1.00
  • Certificates of Deposit - $500.00


Q.    Is there a minimum age to open an account?
A. Yes, you have to be at least 18 years old to open an account online.


Application Questions

Q.     How long does it take to open an account online?
A. The application process should take about 10 minutes.  In the event you have no activity during the application process they system will log you off after 15 minutes.

Q.    If I start an application can I save it and come back to it later to complete it?
A. Yes, anytime during the application process you can save it and by visiting the account opening page then enter your user name and password and re-open your application.

Q.     What information do I need to get started?
A.     To open any account online you will need the following information:

  • Valid driver’s license or US Passport or Military ID
  • U. S. Social Security Number
  • Funding account number (account number from which funds will be drawn), including routing number if you wish to fund your account from another institution.
  • Current residential address and prior address if you have lived at your current address for less than two years
  • Email address
  • Account number, credit card, or debit card to initiate your opening deposit into your new ATC account
  • Webwise® Online Banking ID and password (if you are an existing customer)

 

Q.    Do I need to provide copies of ID, social security, and proof of address if I am already an Adirondack Trust customer?
A. No, you will be notified if any additional documentation is necessary.

Q.    How do I get my new account documents?
A. You will receive your new account documents within 2-4 business days.  These documents will be sent to you via the US mail.

Q.    Can I open an account online if I am not a US citizen?
A. Yes, as long as you are a resident of the United States.  We do not ask for any additional information online.

Q.    Why is this information and documentation required?
A.    Government regulation states that we must verify your identity before opening your account.  We use the information you provide to confirm your identity.  To review our privacy policy please click here.

Q.    Is my online application secure?
A. The security of every customer's personal banking information is very important to us. We maintain the highest security standards to prevent any unauthorized access to your account. We use leading encryption service such as 128-bit data encryption, firewalls, and server authentication to eliminate unauthorized access to your accounts.

Q.    If I want to change the information on my application can I?
A. Yes, at any time during the application process you can edit the information, simply edit the information before you submit your application.


Checking Accounts

Q.     How can I open a checking account online with The Adirondack Trust Company?
A. To open an ATC checking account online, click “apply now” located on the checking account product page. 

Q.     What is the minimum deposit for opening an ATC checking account online?
A.      For a Regular Checking account the minimum opening deposit is $1.00, for Interest Checking it is $500.00

Q.    How long will it take to open a checking account on line with ATC?
A. The application process should take about 10 minutes.  In most cases we will be able to approve your application immediately. In some cases we may require additional validation and it may take 1-2 business days to process your application. We will let you know if you are approved for an account through email.

Q.    How soon after I open a checking account will I receive my ATM/Debit card and checks?
A. You will receive your debit card and personal checks in about two weeks after opening your account.   

Q.    How do I get my card PIN?
A. You will get your PIN  in the mail after you have been approved for an ATM/debit card

Q.    Can I change my card PIN?
A. Yes, you can change your ATM Card PIN or your debit card PIN by stopping at any ATC branch.

Q.    How often will I receive an account statement?
A. You will receive an email notifying you that your eStatement is available for viewing each month. At any time you can also review your account activity using WebWise®,  ATC's online banking service.
