ANNOUNCES 100th ANNIVERSARY OF MAIN OFFICE HEADQUARTERS
Saratoga Springs, New York—The Adirondack Trust Company announced today that it will play host to a Centennial Reception, commemorating the 100th anniversary of its Main Office Headquarters. The event will take place Saturday, January 7, 2017, at ATC’s Main Office located at 473 Broadway in Saratoga Springs, from 9 to 11 a.m., and will give visitors the chance to learn about and celebrate the history of this iconic marble building.
The event will feature a ceremonial closing of the 2016 time capsule, which will be placed into the building’s cornerstone at a later date. The new capsule is intended to be opened in 2116. The public is invited to attend to view the contents of this new capsule for the last time before it is sealed, examine the contents from the 1916 capsule that was unearthed in June, and enjoy refreshments and community.
“While the Main Office hasn’t always resided in its current marble building, it’s been its home for 100 years, and that is worth celebrating,” said Adirondack Trust Company Executive Vice President Charles V. Wait, Jr. “We are excited to share this day and this milestone with the members of our community who have built Adirondack Trust into the institution it is today.”
Founded in 1901, The Adirondack Trust Company’s original home was still at 473 Broadway, in a building that would be demolished 15 years later and replaced with the marble edifice that currently stands on the corner of Broadway and Church in downtown Saratoga Springs. As the bank grew, so did Saratoga Springs and the surrounding areas; this centennial event celebrates not only the legacy of The Adirondack Trust Company, but also the history and legacy of the region.
